Central North Alabama Health Services, Inc. (CNAHSI) has a rich history that spans over 38 years of serving the community in North Alabama. Established in July 1982 as a 501(c)(3) private non-profit Corporation, CNAHSI initially started as a two-physician family practice with one located in a satellite facility on Highway 20 near Limestone County, and the other in a house and trailer on Pulaski Pike, Huntsville, Alabama.
Since its humble beginnings, CNAHSI has grown and evolved into one of the largest multi-service primary healthcare group practices in North Alabama. Today, CNAHSI is Joint Commission Accredited and Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH) Certified by The Joint Commission, a testament to its commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services to its patients. With five health centers and a home health agency, CNAHSI now serves over 100,000 residents of Madison, Limestone, Morgan, and contiguous counties in North Alabama and South Tennessee.
CNAHSI’s mission has always been to improve the quality of life in the community by ensuring access to quality healthcare services. Throughout its history, CNAHSI has been dedicated to meeting the healthcare needs of the local population and has earned a reputation for providing compassionate care to its patients. CNAHSI’s success is a result of strong partnerships with the community, local organizations, and dedicated staff who work tirelessly to fulfill its mission.
Over the years, CNAHSI has made significant contributions to the healthcare landscape in North Alabama. The organization has played a vital role in increasing access to primary healthcare services for underserved populations, including low-income families, uninsured individuals, and those with limited access to healthcare due to geographic or other barriers. CNAHSI has been a lifeline for many individuals and families, providing comprehensive healthcare services that include primary care, dental care, behavioral health services, and home health care.
One of the hallmarks of CNAHSI’s success is its commitment to quality and patient-centered care. The organization has consistently pursued excellence in healthcare by implementing evidence-based practices, leveraging technology to improve care delivery, and promoting a culture of continuous quality improvement. The Joint Commission Accreditation and PCMH Certification are a testament to CNAHSI’s unwavering dedication to delivering safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
CNAHSI’s service delivery model is centered on the concept of a Medical Home, which emphasizes comprehensive, coordinated, and patient-centered care. As a PCMH, CNAHSI focuses on building relationships with patients and their families, providing personalized care plans, and coordinating care across different healthcare settings. This approach ensures that patients receive the right care at the right time, and that their healthcare needs are met in a holistic and coordinated manner.
In addition to primary care services, CNAHSI also places a strong emphasis on preventive care and health promotion. The organization conducts community outreach programs, health education initiatives, and screenings to raise awareness about important health issues, and empower individuals to take charge of their health. CNAHSI believes that prevention is key to maintaining good health and reducing the burden of chronic diseases in the community.
CNAHSI’s success is also attributed to its strong partnerships with local organizations, businesses, and government agencies. The organization collaborates with various stakeholders to address the unique healthcare needs of the community and develop innovative solutions to improve health outcomes. These partnerships have enabled CNAHSI to expand its services, leverage resources, and improve access to care for the underserved populations in the region.
